The United Academy (The U) is the perfect place for players who want to train, compete, and call Katy United home! This program is designed to provide structured training, competitive game play, and a true team experience—all while keeping the focus on development and fun!
What’s Included?
✔ One practice per week – Every Friday, 7:30-9:30pm
✔ One in-house scrimmage day – Get extra court time and game play experience
✔ Five local one-day tournaments – Compete once a month from January - May
How to Join
- The U program may be offered on the day of your Katy United tryouts by age group, registration required.
- Players can also register directly through our website without attending a tryout.
- Practices begin in early November and run through mid May.
Team Formation & Player Development
Teams will be made up of 8–12 players, combining those who registered online and those invited through club tryouts. Because a large portion of tryout participants were DS/Libero players, some players may have the opportunity to play out of their usual position, rotate all the way around, or even focus on front-row play.
This is an amazing chance to develop skills, gain real game experience, and grow as a versatile player! Whether you’re sharpening your strengths or learning a new role, The U is all about challenging yourself, improving, and having fun!

The U Program Details
Volleyball Training
- 1 practice weekly
- 2 hours total
- In-house scrimmages
Tournaments
- (5) 1-Day local tournaments
- One each month from January - May
Team Requirements
Each team is required to have (2) scorekeeper certified players.
Ages
The U is ideal for ages 12's - 16's. Please click the button below to see the age classification chart.
Uniform Package
- 1 Jersey
- 1 Spandex
- 1 Practice T-shirt
- 1 Sweatshirt
- Knee Pads
- Backpack
Uniform packages can be "reused" each season as long as all pieces are in condition and fit appropriately.
New to The U? You must register for the uniform package.
The cost of the uniform package is $175.
Season Fee
- $375 Commitment Fee [non-refundable]
- $2,025 Season Fee
- Total U Season Fees: $2,400
- $337.50/mo to be billed in 6 monthly installments from October 5th through March 5th
Uniform package is an additional cost (please see uniform package section).
If you are a returning The U player, you may resuse your uniform from the previous season.
