United Sports Academy – Financial Assistance
United Sports Academy provides need-based financial aid to athletes who cannot afford to pay club fees. The financial assistance program awards funds to club members based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and expressed interest in pursuing Volleyball beyond high school. To be eligible to apply for the United Sports Academy Financial Assistance Program, all athletes must try out, and have been offered a position in one of our club teams.
To apply for Financial Assistance, please complete the two documents below and return them by email to info@katyunited.com. All applications and supporting documents MUST be received by September 15th (prior to the upcoming season) to be considered.
Financial Assistance Program | Criteria for Application
The financial assistance program awards funds to club members based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and an express interest in pursuing Volleyball beyond high school.
To be eligible to apply for the Legacy Financial Assistance Program, you must meet all of the following criteria:
Tryout and accept a club team offer
Must be of high academic standing – Earning a minimum of a 3.0 GPA or above 86 average or greater than a B average
Demonstrate need for financial assistance (financial documentation will be required)
Intentions of graduating from high school
Planning to enroll full-time in a higher education/college/university degree program at an accredited institution directly after your graduation from high school
Your application for assistance will be evaluated on the following:
- Individual determination to succeed
- Future goals and plans to achieve them
- Ability to communicate the hardships you have overcome or currently face
- Self motivation in completing challenging coursework
- Demonstrated need for financial assistance
Depending on team placement, amount of athletes requesting assistance on a given team and funds availability. Financial need and travel team fees will be considered in determining who gets awarded and award amounts.
Additionally, all award recipients must be willing to volunteer with the club from time to time (fittings, registrations, KU tournaments, sorting of equipment, etc).
